As an adult in charge of my food, I reminisce about my grandmother’s tiffin lunches at school. They symbolized care and communal eating, forging strong friendships over shared tiffin meals. During Covid, I longed for that connection.
So, I created a performance where I took on the role of an architect, pitching why you should live in a building made of a tiffin, with food from my school days as the different rooms. This performance was a play on food as home, sustenance, and community building. Everyone ate each dish on a tiffin blueprint placemat while I pitched why it would make a good room. This performance was my way of bringing everyone together and sharing a meal.
