Born and brought up in India, interdisciplinary artist Sana Jankharia takes inspiration from her personal experiences to create shared experiences. She does this using the form of games, interactive installations, performances, and wearables through various printmaking, fiber and sculpture processes. While each work takes root in her situation, it forms branches to those of everyone else.
Sana received her International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma from Bombay International School and her BFA in Studio from School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2017, she exhibited in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum, the Eat India Food Fest and the FOCUS Photography Festival. In 2018, at the end of the IB, she co-organized an exhibition titled IKIGAI, in the Bombay International School. In 2019, she had a performance piece and an artist book exhibited in the Art Bash Exhibition and in 2022, she had an interdisciplinary art piece exhibited in the Senior Undergraduate Exhibition, both at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In August 2024, Sana had two artist books in the show ‘Paper and Play’ by Pulp Society in Delhi, India. In October 2024, Sana had a performance piece and an artist book exhibited in the ‘Home Ludens: Art of Play’ show at Museum of Goa, India.
